Taylor - On the SVRy website you state:
"Then in 1940 the ARMY desperately needed engines to work on the White Pass & Yukon, and the #19 and 20 were deemed surplus."
It was my understanding that the #19 and 20 were sold to the WP&Y by SVRy AFE #556 1/01/41.
Your story about the Army desperately needing engines to work on the White Pass & Yukon in 1940, nearly two years before the Alcan Hiway was built, opens a whole new chapter on WP&Y history. Please tell us more about this Army mission on the WP&Y before WW2.
