J&L Narrow Gauge Railroad July, 2020

We have had two steam ups in July, both were private for members and friends. The first 150 feet of the eastern extension is now in service including a bit of a 5% grade to get to the upper level at the rear of the property. We will probably have another steam up in a couple of weeks after I pick up another load of coal.

The gasket for the left side stuffing box was bad, making for the loss of a lot of steam and an off beat exhaust climbing the hill on the new track. That gasket was repalced today and hopefully that will take care of the issue. Always something to do on a steam locomotive!
