I noticed that the tender of SLRG 1744 has the name "San Luis & Rio Grande" painted on the tender BUT only on one side. It seems like they put it too far back on the tender, and it is way at the rear or the tender instead of centered in the middle. I do not know why they placed the name only on one side. Perhaps Carlos or someone down that way can say what is going on. Does anyone have the numbers on how many are riding and how many gallons of oil and water it is taking for the round trip. How does the operation today, compare to narrow gauge or standard gauge operation. When steam ran on this stretch, were their any water tanks between Alamosa and La Veta? Ken in Buena Vista
