I had the pleasure of seeing the 42 make the official first run at Magic Mountain (a mere 45 years ago) and it was a real treat. I also saw the 42 in Alamosa at the shops when it was being lifted off its drivers for shopping before going to Magic Mountain. I really think that when finances make it feasible that this engine could be a real plus for the D&S. I would sure like to see it run again, along with the 315.
