There was speculation in the other thread that there was bad water in Silverton because the town got its water from the Animas River. To my knowledge, Silverton has never used the river water. The town installed its current municipal system in 1912 drawing water from Bear Gulch and later, additionally from Boulder Gulch, both in use today. The town also has an unused well inside the town.
