Kurt,
We always slept in the station. The first time the guy I was with swore that a train pulled up in the middle of the night and the door opened and someone stepped over him and went out the back door. I had no such experiences myself. During the electric storm the lightening would strike the rocks on the ridge surrounding the station and the smell of ozone was pretty strong. It also would illuminate the picture of Mrs. Waters on the wall which was kind of eerie. The fellow I was with in 1977 and I walked the length of the tunnel with a Coleman lantern. For sometime it appeared that the darkness was absorbing the light but after awhile it was pretty well lit. Climbed over the pile of rock near the center of the Tunnel from the cave in overhead. Didn't linger there very long. An adventure I will never forget. Thanks for letting me share.
