Don't know about Bill's adventures but when I did it (June of '81) it was windy as all get out. I laid out my bag over by the remains of the engine house. The guy I'd hiked up with (we left the car at Quartz) tried sleeping in the station building but there was a loose piece of tin on the roof that kept banging around so after a few hours he gave up and came out to sleep outside. He also freaked out when I wanted to go into the tunnel (you could just barely get under the top of the West portal) so I didn't. I regret that. wasn't going to go any great distance, just wanted to see the rail & the supports & so on. Ah well.

It's always great to see some DSP&P stuff on here. Nice video.
