Mr. C. B. Carpenter
Superintendent, Alamosa Division
D&RGW RR Company
Alamosa, Colorado

Dear Sir:
The following matter is submitted to you for your handling.

“Grievance of the fireman on the Rio Grande Southern account blanking back cab windows on K-27 class engines, and request that engines 460 and 462 are now so conditioned be provided with a small windows that can be raised and lowered for purpose of ventilation.”
Agreement was reached between the General Mechanical Superintendent and General Chairman Chipman on August 23nd to discontinue the blanking of rear cab windows on small power. It was further agreed that on all engines which rear windows have been blanked, such engines would be equipped with a small window that can be raised and lowered, hence our request.

May I not hear from you?
Very truly yours,
R. W. Nixon
Local Chairman
B.L.F. & E.
