Jeff... we're both correct I just didn't explain it well. The center in the back of the cab is just a fixed pane, and the two "windows" located on each side are sliders that move to the center, covering the middle window. Both outside sliders can not be all the way open at the same time.

BTW: it's thru these rear windows that the fireman looks to view the steam gages, as he's running, as he's outside of the cab box. With the Firemans injector located towards the front of the cab and between the cab and the boiler. One has to step around the side "Doors" and step into the actual cab box to get to the injector. There is only about 18-20 in clearance between the boiler and the cab side.
