I took the time to look at my slides this morning and found that on my last trip to Guatemala, January of 1977,
I did photograph 2-6-0 79 outside of the Mazatenango roundhouse. She was missing some parts. This was
my first and only venture this far west on the railroad. I did continue to the border at Tecun Uman to ride a
steam special 177 miles back to the capital. It was pulled by 2-8-2 204.
I also confirmed that it was sister 81 stored at a plantation near Escuintla in April of 1975. The name escapes
me, but it could have been Palo Gordo. John West might know for certain.
