Already been there and done that, Willie -
I chopped at least an inch, maybe 1½ inches, off the bottom of a copy of 'Moonrise over Hernandez, New Mexico' several years ago, and not just to make it fit in an 11×14 mat

BTW, it's Ansel Adams, with just one 'd'. Charles Addams (two 'd's) is the creator of one of my favorite characters, 'Uncle Fester Addams', whom I portrayed quite successfully (IMHO) several years ago while undergoing chemotherapy during the Hallowe'en season. I'm going to send an 8×10 copy of this one to Olaf as a thank-you for his nice comment (above) and one to Roger for putting me up at THE (Shamrock) HOTEL all those years
