I was shooting at 200. But one of the things I noticed is that the "churning" varies greatly from image to image. One of the reasons for the "versions" mentioned above is this frame seemed to catch a bit more interesting shape and lighting on the snow being thrown that the first frame I processed. You might check through your images and you might be pleasantly surprised. But it might also have to do with exposure, since the snow tends to over expose and loose detail unless you adjust your exposure accordingly (I was under exposing about two-thirds of a stop to compensate for that).
