Jerry – Thanks for the story about Frank Wright. I have a large collection of the Green Light but I don’t think I have the story that Frank wrote. You could generally tell who was running an engine as Frank wore a white cap and my granddad wore a black cap and hung his water bag over the engine numbers. I took my granddad to visit with Frank in GJ not long before he passed which I can still remember. I also knew Oscar Doyle and Shorty Dean as Oscar lived just a block from us in Gunnison. My mother, grandmother and I went down to Iola for the last Powderhorn stock loadout when my granddad was working as engineer and I did take a couple of photos. Also, we did load our sheep at the Gunnison pens which were located west of the roundhouse. One of my distant uncles, Jim LeValley, owned the big Rainbow Hotel/cattle ranch just across the highway from the stock pens in Sapinero and I last worked there stacking hay in 1960. I also was on the last run through the Black Canyon to Cimarron in May 1949 with the RMRRC special when my granddad was running the 361. Then also on a run to Crested Butte the following day. RW
