Your post regarding your family living at Gunnison and your grandfather, C L Braswell, working on the narrow gauge is of special interest to me.
I have been posting on this site for several years. During that time I have provided 100s of posts pertaining to narrow gauge train operations. Information was/is taken from dispatcher train sheets and cover the period 1930s through 1960s.
Numerous of these posts show C L Braswell working trains out of Gunnison.
Doing a search, on this site, for these posts is cumbersome at best, but they are there.
I would need to do some verification, but I seem to recall that when traffic declined between Gunnison and Montrose Mr. Braswell established seniority at
Grand Junction. During periods when an extra engineer was needed out of Gunnison he deadheaded to there from Grand Junction.
At the completion of his assignment he deadheaded back to Grand Junction.
In any event, thank you for your post, it is very interesting.
