That must be
No. 16, No. 21, and
No. 87. It would be hard to find them without a more detailed location. I'll try to look from shore sometime (at low tide near a spring tide -March 15 looks promising). I posted a question to a Hilo area diving group on Facebook to see if anyone has seen them while diving. There are a couple of shore diving entry points nearby (
Richardson Beach Park and
Leleiwi Beach Park), but even good underwater visibility is only 100 feet or so, so it could be nearly impossible to find these without better information, and they may not be somewhere that's safe to get to (the surf can be pretty dangerous close to rocky shores - most people either stay farther out or near beaches). None of the reviews or comments that are posted to the dive site information pages mention anything about submerged locomotives. That is a much longer drive for me (1-1/2 hours vs 1/2 hour to Mahukona), and standard gauge, so a lower priority for me than exploring the Hawaii Railway.
