Makes good sense to me, Link -
Especially as
several years ago, when Jackelopette was just a young whipper-snapper and we rode the RR from Santa Cruz to Felton behind a diseasel, we were told that they couldn't use a steam locomotive 'cause there was a stretch of rough track were the r.o.w. slides a bit every year and something like a 2-8-0 or 2-8-2 with a moderately long wheelbase couldn't handle it without derailing. I told them they should get a standard-gauge Shay or Heisler or Climax, since the run was slow anyway, and IMHO #5 restored to its original configuration would be just about perfect, assuming it's powerful enough to handle enough cars to make it worthwhile.
Just a notorious foamer's 2¢.
