I actually prefer chasing to riding, but I also spent about $1200 for a couple tickets just because I want to support the event directly. Between that and the OY, this will be an expensive year for me on the C&TS--aside from the 3 other trips I'll likely make this year.
As to the point of avoiding interfering with the photo lines, for this one I might suggest figuring out a way to communicate those locations to us chasers. There's not much on the east side that I haven't chased, and can't get to. And I frankly like avoiding the "typical" spots, but this one will be a bit odd.

Yep. Most vehicles aren't really good at reducing dust either. Looking at you jeep guys. Those Dana axles ALWAYS have some wheel slip when you turn, it's unavoidable in 4WD, and 2WD will just kick up dust with the rear wheels. Although I submit for this event that dust on the riders is probably unavoidable, and preferable because at least at those moments the riders aren't arrayed in a photo line.
