Grey became the MOW color in 1939-1940. As all this stuff was lowly MOW equipment, it took a while to get things painted. Some cars (like 04904) never got painted grey. OY was painted red in the fall of 1977 for use on the 1978 Winter Special that Scenic Rys put on.
