Russo,
Later on the EN 12 and other equipment was moved closer to the buildings at the Last Frontier Village. There were trees and grass around the railroad grade and equipment and it was a pleasant place to visit. You are right about the shay also being there....it was. It was purchased several years ago by Brad Milne up in Washington State. I do not know the status of it now, but I believe he started on restoring it. I do not think he finished it though. There was also a little 42 inch gauge Porter that came from the Cortez Mine Railroad here in Nevada. It was acquired several years ago by Tom Gazsi who restored it to operation, and re gauged it to 36 inches. He calls it Deanna, or something like that. The collection that was at the Last Frontier Village was put together by the legendary Doby Doc. Little did he know the effect it would have on some of us decades later. Attached is a picture of Doby that used to hang in the Horseshoe. The picture of the EN 12 and E&P cars is at the other location on the Last Frontier property I mention above.
