I didn't get to see narrow gauge

* IMHO, the April 1956
TRAINS is the best issue Kalmbach ever published — not only a superb story on the
Narrow Gauge but a great two-page spread on one of the last runs of a three-engine, all cab-forward freight on the S.P.
:
. . . and a well-done story of a mine run on the C&O road

My first taste of 36" gauge, though I'm not sure I realized it at the time, was seeing the movie
'A Ticket to Tomahawk' with my cousins while on vacation at age 8 in the summer of 1950.
