Movie companies don't want "real" RR names on the equipment. It is indeed a liability issue. One movie company wanted a quickie relettering job on the engine. At that time we had the spelled out name on the tender. I suggested changing "CUMBRES & TOLTEC SCENIC R.R." to "CUMBRES & TOLTEC RAILROAD". They asked if that was a "real" railroad name. I told them what our "real name was. They thought for a minute and went along with it. The movie company paid me (personally - with a check - that didn't bounce either) $200 to black out the "SCENIC R.R." and replace it with "RAILROAD". Then paint it back when the shoot was done. They didn't seem to care about the herald on the tender side.
BTW the Indiana Jones gang want to rename the railroad the "PUEBLO & DURANGO" railroad. We raised a big stink about that. They agreed with our "Pueblo & Chama" idea.
