The smallest standard-model locomotives in the 1880's era Porter catalogue are 0-4-0's weighing about 4 gross tons or from 8500 to 9000 pounds. They had 5x10 cylinders, 22 inch wheels. The smallest Baldwins listed in the turn of the century catalogues are also 5x10 0-4-0's but a little heavier at about four and one half gross tons, roughly 10,000 pounds. Mine locomotive variants could possibly be a little lighter (with the same basic specifications) due to using smaller cabs/tanks/etc. While rare, locomotives in this size range did exist.
