Speaking of #10's 100th birthday...
The WW&F will be celebrating the locomotive's heritage 3 times this upcoming summer by throwing it a birthday party.
The second weekend of June (12 & 13) will be the "official" 100th birthday party. During the month of June, the loco will be sporting its "as-built" lettering scheme of "Underwood, Short and Reeves/Bellevue Plantation".
In July we will honor its time at the Pleasure Island amusement park from 1960-1965ish, by lettering it for "Pleasure Island & Western". July 10 and 11 will celebrate its service at Pleasure Island; we hope to have the Friends of Pleasure Island involved (if someone from the Friends is reading this, we will be contacting you shortly).
In August the engine will bear "Old Smokey RR" lettering, which it wore at Edaville. Our annual picnic is the second weekend of August so that will be acknowledgement of its Edaville service.
Finally, in September the engine will return to WW&F lettering, and we'll celebrate its service at the WW&F on September 11 & 12.
