I gotta say I was never a big fan of those ex-Army 2-8-0's. The best one I saw was the transformed 610 at The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. It ran in the nineties, including a few trips off the TVRM property to Summerville, but mainly on the TVRM local.

Speaking of Reader, my family stopped there on the way to Mexico from Ohio in 1963. Rode the mixed train with 2-6-2 number 11. Interestingly this engine found its way to Kentucky, some 50 miles from Cincinnati, and I saw it run for a few years until that operation went away thanks to CSX policy. Its now stuffed and mounted in Nicholasville, KY.
