The D&RGW narrow gauge had a similar coal platform/dock at Osier.

Here is a (relatively current) photo from an earlier thread:




That photo is after the Friends rebuilt the coal dock around 2007. Here is a link to a number of other photos, including a "pre-rebuild" photo:

No crane, though. My understanding is that the coal was unloaded onto the dock by 'hand shoveling' and later more hand shoveling was required to get that coal into a locomotive tender.
