They used a specially trained goat to get sheep to load on the double deck stock cars.

I've seen photos of this on the Rio Grande narrow gauge system. The sheep follow the goat up the ramp. The goat turns down the other tramp and the pathway is blocked, leaving the sheep no other choice but to enter the stock car.

The owner of the goat charged so much per day - I have no idea what the day rate was.

Perhaps they used a goat or a similarly trained animal.
