John Engs, our fearless leader for the work at Osier, commented that the pens and chute had been used relatively recently for an 'event'. Thanks for posting the great pictures showing what happened.
FYI, the loading chute essentially marks the beginning of the widened ROW since the west end switch is not far beyond it. Since the chute slides on skids, we didn't have to modify or disassemble it; we only had to extend the range of the skids back a bit into the pens.
Finally, the corner post of the west pen next to the chute had to be reseated and moved back 3 inches - the only modification necessary for that pen - and the fence rails attached to it were shortened accordingly. The hardest part of the whole operation was being mindful that we were working in open range - fresh meadow muffins make for poor footing.
