Thanks Dan,
I just turned 79. Am in pretty good health, but just had spine surgery that slowed me down a bit. Was sturdy enough to ride in the cab of SP18 and on the caboose of the 168 train, but not sure how much longer will have good health. All things come to an end. I have a bunch of potential book projects that I would like to do, only real commitment is to do the K-28 book next. I want to do the Crested Butte book after that. Thought about doing a book on the Salida barrel transfer as I have a ton of material never published before, but might just make it part of a Crested Butte book since most of what went thru the barrel was Crested Butte coal. Also want to do something on the Orient branch. Problem is some subjects are too large for a magazine but too narrowly focused for book publishers. A lot of D&RGW history will probably never see the light of day.
