There are others more knowledgeable on this than me that will hopefully chime in. During it's time at the Huckleberry RR it suffered a catastrophic engine failure which is to say something went out through the side of the engine block. The original engine was a Cooper Bessemer 6 cylinder diesel. SVRR bought it to fix up and use as back up power for a proposed extension that has been on the back burner. A replacement CB engine was salvaged from a wrecked GE 70 ton locomotive. The unit was sold not long after arriving at SVRR to Colorado Historical Society for use on the Georgetown Loop with Sumpter Valley Machine Works rebuilding most aspects of the locomotive, but not the actual replacement engine which was as is. The CB engine was replaced at "The Loop" with an Alco engine from a White Pass engine. I enjoyed listening to the CB engine which was music to my ears being a big old school diesel fan.
