The first train in the video is powered by 484 and it shows westbound to Cumbers starting at Tanglefoot in the snow. Then after Chama it jumps to the Silverton Branch chasing one and riding one.
Then we see 483 eastbound which has the 492 rock(I believe its that one). The shot is interesting in that its taken from the opposite side of your onboard shot and he is shooting from an elevated position. Made a really cool shot. I am not sure if its a photo runby or someone got in there. More likely a runby, but nobody else is seen in a photo line, which makes it more curious. Was this location someplace you could drive to?
Anyway the trains from Chama to Cumbres(There were 2), including one with 498 as the helper for a K-36(couldn't tell number), then another single engine train, which I suspect is either 484 or 483.
One train had a yellow box car, and a baggage car, followed by the coaches. The other train had coaches behind the engine. He chased the Doubleheader and rode the other one. Because he put these two runs in line order, I am wondering if he was attempting to do the same. For example he has the 483 arriving at Gato tank, and all the fans jumping off the coaches to get shots of 483. Then he has the departure, so someone was perhaps riding, or he put together two different trips. I will have to study the ground versus onboard consist scenes once I get it transferred.
The shot of the big rock really jumped out at me when I first saw it, and it is one of the coolest shots in the film. Also the train only had the once engine up Bocea Hill(483), which was shot from ground level a few times, then its onboard shots again.
There is also another reel from the same source, and most of it is freight operations. So after the first of the year I am looking forward to getting them transferred.
