Can anyone offer some insight as to what the original desired outcome of Iowa Pacific's quest to own every passenger car on the planet was?

I am not sure there is a clear answer to your question, other than "Pullman Rail Journeys." What I found may not tell you anything you did not know already, but these links may help someone new to the story. The collection of cars are a result of developed ideas, changing regulatory and market forces, and stillborn plans. I hope a great outcome will happen from all these accumulated resources. Perhaps the SLRG itself can be the place where one can experience the Pullman Rail Journey.
