I suspect when they release the schedule for further trips they will be listed here as well. I know there is a planned trip to Boone, Iowa for the dedication of the new Kate Shelly bridge west of Boone(I was there in 1993 on my way to Chama). Also the group that displayed the engine in Pomona is promised an excursion with the engine, so it will be in California. I suspect on the trip to Iowa they may go further east, and perhaps even loop through Texas back to Wyoming, or go to California in a big loop. More likely separate trips though.
My personal take on it--The best trips will be in the future once they get all the kinks ironed out. It appears to be a huge hood ornament on this trip, due to the lack of break-in run time. Have seen some nice locations but the train looks more like a model than an impressive show the many expected. Still glad they got it going and hope to see it under better circumstances in the future. I looked at an old 1991 preview I did of a show called "Steam In The West" which has NG stuff as well as the 1991 844/3985 doubleheader to Utah, and they were doing some spirited running and sounded great. For me the sound of the engines working either fast or slow is a big part of the steam experience. Thats why I always enjoy the Narrow Gauge in Colorado and NM.
