Ah, but they do, I suspect, emit methane which is, ounce for ounce, a much more effective greenhouse gas, altho it doesn't last as long before it breaks down.
btw, fun fact, the biggest contributing gas to the greenhouse effect on this planet is dihydrogenoxide. Really, it is. Not as big an effect per molecule but there are so many tons of it up there... Personally, I'm in favor of the Greenhouse Effect - I'd hate to have the temperature swings of our nearest neighbor in space (Luna) to deal with!
