Re: Parallel railroads - These railroads were owned by different companies and served different mines. The Chihuahua Mineral railway received ore from a 5.7 mile long aerial bucket tramway serving the San Antonio Grande mine. The expense of operating and maintaining the bucket tramway ultimately led to installing concentrating equipment at the mine and closure of the concentrate mill section of the smelter at Avalos along with the connecting tramway and railroad. The electric railroad served an entirely separate mining complex about 600 feet higher at Santo Domingo.
Re: 25KV , 4000 hp electrics ---not much relation with the 30 inch electric railroad to Santo Domingo, which operated at 600 volts. I take it that this was meant as a joke.
