When I lived in Gunnison in the 1980's I got a letter from my Mom every week. It was always interesting when it was delayed to look at the postmarks and see where it had been. Pitken was not uncommon for some reason, several times it had been to Glenwood Springs and so on. Mom had always lettered the address large and in a clear hand so it was a mystery why the sorters had so many problems!
