I wouldn't describe that as Hunting, normally used to describe the slight wandering of the wheels between the rails at speed seeking the equilibrium. However it has been the norm on the D&S for long time now.
That is just rock and roll on the D&S trackage caused by humped and warped rails beaten down at the staggered joints coupled to soft roadbed and less than optimal sleepers.
I never saw anything like it until I visited the USA in 1982 and then after the Wisconsin Central had owned the NZR for a few "maintenance free" years, our railway lines took on the same character.
