Correct. Two different organizations. Laws was a great place for a photo event, because they have some original SP rolling stock and some infrastructure.....just not much track. Still, I wish I had gone there last year when the 18 was on site. The resulting images were great.
Photography with the 18 on the D&S is definitely sub-optimal as the place doesn't look much like home rails at all. And unless the rolling stock is relettered, it will definitely look strange. That said, it is the first place where the locomotive has been that it can actually run any distance AND someone has already footed the cost of getting it there, which is huge. While I would love to see it run at Antonito, I wouldn't love to have to pay the bill to truck it there.
