The Weidman mill in Durango and the Skyline mill in Chama were shipping lumber via the railroad right up to the end of revenue operations -
IIRC, the very last Cumbres Turn operated by the D&RGW – in mid-July, 1968 – included several carloads of lumber from the Skyline mill in Chama, and the last revenue freight over Cumbres Pass consisted of fourteen boxcars loaded with lumber from the Weidman mill in Durango.
