Interesting comments. So looking at the broader situation with everyday trains or not, each train from Alamosa was always 2 engines right? Okay then when trains went up the hill from Chama to Cumbres(turns, etc), they usually had one engine go east with the train to Alamosa. How then did they balance power in Alamosa so they could continually be sending two engine trains west? My guess is a lot of light engines? In 1952 that would mean K-37's then!
