Thank you gentlemen for the very kind remarks. As I am now in my mid-80s, I felt it necessary to take it easy after over a half century of GAZETTE deadlines. This is not my first "retirement". I had already retired over 23 years ago, from 30+ years of flying for Western and Delta Airlines. I also ended a decade of writing major articles for Russ Reinberg's NARROW GAUGE ANNUALS and the Logging,Mining & Industrial ANNUALS. (Russ and I had previously mutually decided to shut-down those annuals when my series were completed in 2014.) Concurrently with my airline flying, I continued serving and flying fighter aircraft in the USAF Reserves until I retired (as a Lt. Col.). I will still do research and collect historic photos (now numbering some150,000 prints), but on a much more leisurely basis. The NGDF and you fine men will always be a great source of information, photos and friendship.
