If Ferrell had done nothing else with his life but watch TV and drink beer, the creation of "Silver San Juan" would firmly place him among the Best of the Best. That work still ranks as the finest book ever written about the narrow gauge, and among the finest non-fiction books on ANY subject. It just breathes "high, lonesome, and cold".Now it remains for someone--- maybe Mallory himself-- to gather all the Gazette material into one place in a searchable format..... just let us know where to send the $$$!
