Funny you should say that. I don't know if you saw the photos in the other thread before they were yanked, but I did. A couple of them were of SP 18 sitting inside a really dirty looking stall (typical of busy shops--good atmospheric pictures of an almost-disappeared reality). Someone *did* comment on the content of said pictures by exclaiming awe over the impressive amount of grime present. I can't see that as negative, rude, or otherwise inappropriate.
You might be friends with a certain poster, but don't let friendship stand in the way of objective reality. He picked fights with people who made off-topic comments he wasn't personally interested in. He insulted people who made jokes. At last he threw what amounts to a public temper tantrum over someone making a content-appropriate comment on his own photographs. He has a long history of belligerent and toxic behavior spanning numerous forums. He only started posting here again after he left (or got kicked out of) another forum. In short, the only real problem here is that individual's own poor attitude. If you're a friend, maybe you can get through where nobody else can and tell him he's way out of line.
As a rule this forum is by far the most civil internet board I read on a daily basis. I say don't fix what isn't broken. Some forums have active view counters...seems harmless enough. As someone else said, like/dislike buttons tend to become political and wind up manipulated by the various cliques that inhabit a given forum.
