All too true, but in all fairness this is a very Colorado/New Mexico-centric forum. The words, 'narrow gauge' in general means "D&RGW" for many US train fans and nothing else.
But even among narrow gauge lines, the Sumpter Valley is woefully underrepresented in general. I live in the Pacific Northwest and I don't know anyone who's ever gone down there in person to see/photo/ride it.
Like some of them, I plan to eventually but it's not on the way to anywhere for me.
