The Toltec tank was retired December 1925. Built 1880, it was a standard 50,000 gallon, 24' x 16', tank with a 10' high timber frame on a stone foundation. 680' of 3" cast iron pipe ran up to a loose rock reservoir. This reservoir was on the South side of the track, south of the section house. It was later lined with concrete.

If you don't have it, the Colorado Rail Annual #31 is titled Colorado Railroad Water Tanks. It is by William Reich. It is a great source of info and covers the NM narrow gauge tanks also. He also did a nice book on ice houses.
