Russ, I know she went west after that. I was hoping you would notice the shot, as I know you are a big fan of the Daylight. I never saw it in Daylight Paint until 1989 when we chased from Portland to Los Angeles, then the side-by-side with 8444 up Cajon, and as far as Fresno. Then we broke off for a mixed train charter on the Sierra Rwy. After that back to Portland where we chased 8444 to Bend, the we chased it 1200 miles back to Cheyenne. What a monster month-long trip that was, and with an 18 month old strapped in!!! Somewhere I have a shot with her and I in the fireman's seat of 4449 at Portland the day before the trip started. Doyle couldn't believe I drove 2400 miles in less than 4 days. In 1990 went out for the Washington Steamfest with 4449 after the 700 ran. Again Doyle was surprised I drove all that. Last time I saw either engine.
