Several years ago, Don Richter decided that the word "n-i-m-b-y" (without the dashes) is a pejorative not acceptable here on the NGDF, and set up a filter to replace it with "@#$%&".  I've seen many – IMHO much nastier – words and phrases get past the monitors here, but it is (or was) Don's Forum, so either respect his wishes or – when you're desperate – just do as I do and use dashes, spaces, asterisks, etc. when you want to describe Durango's vocal minority of mostly newcomer and new-age, spandex-wearing, N I M B Y s.

OTOH if you want to insert a @#$%& expletive into a sentence, instead of pressing the (Caps Lock) key and hunting & pecking on the top line of your keyboard just type "n-i-m-b-y" without the dashes . . .
