I can't speak for the other folks who were on that trip, but the only time I get upset with chasers is when they foul the shot we're intending to take. If I recall correctly, there was one dust-up at Sublette over a parking issue, and the shot at the curve around MP 305 is always a problem, because chasers invariably park their vehicles right at the apex of the curve, which is squarely in the line of fire.
Aside from folks who get in the way, I personally couldn't care less if chasers get free photographs. Hopefully, most of them will show courtesy to the folks on the train, because after all, if it were not for those folks, there wouldn't be a train to photograph.
