I've read in several articles that the 494 and 495 are a handy supply of spare parts. Of course, when you change wheelsets, you can't put a wheelset with worn tires on an engine with new tires, but I think that 494's wheelsets were probably less worn than the 484's at the time 484 was put back in service. Maybe Earl or someone else with a more profound mechanical knowledge can enlighten us about this... Boris
