Your not wrong. The jacket was built without bands at dry gulch. Bands were added in cheyenne but they are cosmetic. The jacket is held together with sheet metal screws....and was put together in such a way it would have to come of in pieces. It's not really how you would normally build a locomotive jacket, but until someone pledges money for such a thing, it works. There are a lot of strange things on that engine that would be nice to do properly.....but it does work just fine as is. Even if done things are a little off to the eye
