As delivered, the Gon was in the usual C&S Freight car red scheme. After that it was repainted in CB&Q Chinese Red (the Q donated the paint) with the "Burlington Route" box logo in place of the C&S Round one.
After the CCNG Pulled out of Central City in the early 1980's, Lindsey had his employees paint the equipment, I guess that it was for the TV commercial according to Jerry. I cannot tell you what happened in the second incarnation of the Central City to Black Hawk line except that the ersatz block lettering was added and 71 was run for much longer than it should have been..
There are photos in Tom Kilnger's Clear Creek Memories book as well as Poor and the Colorado Rail Annuals of the display train being delivered. Both Kindig and Maxwell shot color slides of the delivery.
